Ikorodu – born Lagos Television Correspondent (LTV), Mr. Shakiru Adeleye, has again qualified to play in the final of the Lagos Speakers’ Cup.
Adeleye, a former Vice Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Correspondents Association (LAHACA), defeated Dr. Onifade of the Health Commission in straight sets — 11-8, 11-9, 11-8, in the semi-final game to book his final ticket slated for November 11th, at the Assembly Complex.
He won the tournament in 2023 and won silver last year.
The Speaker’s Cup is an annual tournament organised to commemorate the birthday of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.

Adeleye who is a professional table tennis player and one of the managers of the national and West African champion, Matthew Kuti, assured his fans that he is going for the gold.
“I am going for the gold in this final. I am battle ready and that is why I have been training very hard to prevent losing in the finals again.
”I have no doubt and my fans should rest assured that I will be lifting the Lagos Speaker’s Cup again this year,” he said.
